Hytera Indicted On Criminal Charges, Email Shows "We Are Trying To Grab Whatever We Can" From Motorola
The US government has charged Hytera with conspiracy to commit trade secret theft backed by emails from Hytera that explain how they are trying to "grab whatever we can" from Motorola.
Motorola has already won a civil case in Illinois District Court on the same issues, although Hytera has appealed all judgments. During the trial, Hytera blamed 3 employees who were "bad apples" that stole Motorola IP, claiming the rest of Hytera had no idea about the theft. Hytera also said that it did not need stolen Motorola IP to launch its own radio.
However, the US government's complaint contains new evidence - these emails - allegedly showing direct intent to steal.
