In recent months, UK surveillance commissioner Fraser Sampson has been warning the public of the security risks of PRC surveillance devices, particularly Hikvision, calling it "digital asbestos." (See: Disqualify Dahua and Hikvision, UK Camera Commissioner Tells Security Minister)
The controversy is intensifying. Today, the Daily Mail ran a headline story on Sampson's warnings, saying "Never Mind Spy Balloons at 60,000ft...Worry About the Chinese Cameras 6ft Over Our Heads."
