Disqualify Dahua and Hikvision, UK Camera Commissioner Tells Security Minister
The UK's top CCTV official, Fraser Sampson, told the UK's Security Minister that surveillance companies that are unwilling to accept scrutiny and accountability should be disqualified.
Two months ago, in September 2022, the UK Security Minister already called for Dahua and Hikvision to be banned while the UK's Camera Commissioner called for a ban on government Hikvision contracts in April 2022.
In this report, IPVM covers Sampson's letter, other policies that the UK is considering implementing, and the impact these regulations may have on Hikvision and Dahua.
