ADI 'SAVE BIG' On FLIR And Hikvision Examined
Your past follows you.
Indeed, this is the second Hikvision 'flash sale' this month:
And the 3rd so far already in 2019:
Sadly, this might actually be less than last year.
Is there some sort of rhythm to these flash sales? I'm used to being bombarded with "urgency close" calls at the end of each quarter and heavily at the end of the fiscal year by everyone else. These flash sales appear to be completely random to an outside observer.
Is there some sort of rhythm to these flash sales?
At first, there was - as you mention, end of the quarter, end of the month, etc. Now, who knows? Groundhog Day? Chinese's New Year? Valentine's Day? President's Day?
This is an even weirder aspect of these sales.
ADI concurred with Dahua, saying
“ADI is funding this promotion to clear out ‘Flir branded’ product. That is, it’s the old Flir/Lorex product that was sold to Dahua—remaining inventory from the sale to Dahua.”
Sooo, how much do they have left?
ADI is not going to disclose their inventory. It's a good question, though. It relates back to (a) did they just mistakenly overorder somewhat or (b) did they get a great deal to take a lot of product? I am guessing (b) but don't know. Agree/disagree?
We are a small/new distributor and overpurchased. We have had trouble getting rid of the old FLIR, but now thankfully down to a few boxes. a lot of the guys we sell to are buying FLIR cheaper than we even purchased it in the first place.
#4, thanks for the feedback!
Any reason or theory on why this happened? Did buyers sour on buying the FLIR branded products or?
ADI says, hold my beer
Lol, when I open the ADI newsletter, I am now stunned if Hikvision is not the lead item on sale.
And while that sale above ends on 3/31, here is the ADI newsletter from last week:
Who wants to bet such sales will be available in April? :)
For those of you who guessed Hikvision's next flash sale would be March 12th, you win:
And quite an exercise in brand damaging building, being side by side with Avycon and Trendnet.
