John Honovich Biography

John Honovich is the founder of IPVM, the world's leading authority on physical security technology. John built this industry's first and only systematic technology testing program and began IPVM's investigative reporting into ethical and human rights abuses. John now leads a team of investigative reporters, researchers, and software developers that test, analyze, teach, and expose.

Under John's leadership, IPVM has collaborated with the BBC, the LA Times, Reuters, the NY Times, The Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and more.

Honovich has been profiled in the Atlantic, and Wired Magazine and was selected to the TIME100 Most Influential People in AI. China Communist Party publication China Daily has featured Honovich:

IPVM was founded in 2008 after Honovich ran Product Management for a Kleiner Perkins-funded facial recognition startup and previously operations for a government security contractor.

John graduated from Dartmouth College in 1997.
