What, If Any, Tablets Do You Use At Work?

The next step after our new Calculator launch is to migrate it to tablets and phones (indeed the new architecture is built directly for that).

So that raises for me, what, if any, tablets do you use at work? What do use them for? Any thing you particularly like or don't like about them?

I've tried a lot of different Android tablets, but I keep coming back to my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.  It's getting slow(er) (it's always been pretty slow though), but you can't beat the big screen, s-pen, and decent brightness.  S-Notes are a great way to map things out from a high level.

We use one not on the list - Microsoft Surface.

Randall, sorry about leaving that out. My mistake. Any other Surface users, let us know.

I work more as maintenance for an end user now, but they've purchased Surface Pro's for our deparment. For use with connecting and programming our alarm systems, and programming/assisting with aiming of cameras.

I use mine for documentation as well, as-builts and such. It's an expensive choice (not that I am paying for it) but the new ones work far better than the Pro 2 I had purchased for myself awhile back.

I've tried the Surface (and still occasionally use it)....but battery life is poor and it's just not simple enough in its operation (even in tablet mode).  But granted these are only high level placement designs I'm doing on a tablet.

As a rep, I use all three.

Ipad:  let's be honest, only for mobile apps and because iOS is the leader in mobile devices.

Android:  they have a ton of open source apps like wifi analyzer and some ONVIF tools

Microsoft Surface:  for all Windows-based applications & VMS demos.

I've been a Panasonic Toughbook user for years. I am ordering a Toughpad soon. I was using an Asus but mainly because I won it. I mainly use them for trouble shooting.

I use a surface pro 4 for meetings/customer markups in Bluebeam.

All our techs have iPads for Fieldwire

Overall I've found cutting out paper as much as possible has kept us more organized and the overhead for devices/fees is offset by labor savings from increased productivity.

Thanks, all. I've added this question to the queue for future surveys so we can get comprehensive results / patterns.
