One of the neighborhood teens on my street picked up a job selling bug control - spraying for spiders, ticks, pests, etc. He jumped headlong into his pitch, trying to sell me a subscription of treatments once per month. I know his dad, and out of respect, I planned to listen.
In mid-pitch, he spotted my Ring doorbell camera (a remnant of our test published in 2016 - I just left it hanging in place and have used it since), and he stopped selling. This kid told me his boss 'warned me to not sell to people with video doorbells'.
