The NRF has started its own blog, posting frequent updates. Very few of the updates are security related and none yet cover video surveillance.

For those interested in general retail topics, it is quite well done with lots of posts and substantial details for most posts.

The most interesting sections for security readers is likely on loss prevention and retail trends [link no longer available]. Loss prevention includes post on ORC, shopli fting procedures and terrorism.

The retail trends posts analyze how sales are changing - an interesting and important element for video surveillance/security businesses serving retailers. For instance, a recent post examines the steep fall in Halloween spending - expected to be down 16% from last year. Future posts are likely to cover Holiday spending - a key leading indicator of retailer health and purchasing power for 2010.
