Looking To Confirm This WiFi Design Will Work?

I have a client that would like some sort of point to point, or multipoint for 6 cameras.  Line of sight is excellent, power at poles.  They want to make sure that everything will work including remote access via phone app.  I believe they are also getting high bandwidth solely dedicated to the system at 85mbps.  I've never done one of these so any info is appreciated.

Btw, the red dots is the bridge, internet service will be at "C".  Not sure if Engenius or Ubiquiti.

Do a site survey first to see what frequencies are free.  Chances are you will use 5Ghz but you can also use 60/70Ghz if needed.  2 PTP links and with the right antennas and you are good.

Thanks Michael... I think I was over-thinking it.  I revisited my idea and I think its solid.

Hello,

We make modular IP control housings for these types of projects and we have solutions ranging from value based to complex.  The advantage of these is electrical and network/comms modularity and plug and play in single common, adaptable platform which is cost effective.  They are 24v POE (passive for PtP radios) and 48V PoE ready for cameras are supported with remote health monitoring & system control built in.  We commonly deploy axis cameras, edge recording and PtP links.  If this would be of interest for your project let me know and I can provide any info you’d like.

Thanks!

Chris

I am pretty sure I would use some NanoBeam AC's here. You could probably use the Loco Nano Station but the NanoBeam has become our default radio.

Do direct overhead powerlines create interference?  These are huge and run down the center of the median in the above image.

Ah, so these are not just light poles, but telephone poles?

Dumb question then: is there a communication bundle already on the pole that you can add a line to?

These are definitely light poles and the power lines are way above.  The communication will be at the bottom of the hill (point C).  I've been advised to use airCube which is new from Ubiquiti.

The aircube is a WIFI AP.  Do not use this for PTP links which is what you are looking for.

Ok, thanks for the info Michael.  What are your thoughts on the overhead power lines?

Btw, the project has now grown to 4 points in all and 8 cameras.  Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Power lines above 4K are highly reflective surfaces to wireless signals. Use Cambium (or Ubiquiti if you must) and align carefully. Wireless above 900 MHz do not penetrate trees well.

Its pretty much line of sight, no trees or barriers.

Not sure how the power lines will affect things but the number of cameras are not an issue. At a couple sites, we have 20+ 2MP cameras coming down a single link, and are around 50-60 Mbps at that choke point. Easily handled by the NanoBeams.

We use the NanoBeams, TS-8 switches, UPS and tough cable. We have seen other installs have intermittent issues and I was told the ground wire was an important piece. This way any static etc can be discharged to the switch and to ground. Using this combo along with ping watch dog on the switch and radios, and have had great results.
