I saw a LinkedIn post that mentioned this. I significantly disagree. I also suspect many will disagree with me so here goes.
A lot of the people who are going to retire have skills and mindset of a different era. The industry was radically different in the 1970s or 1980s - both in terms of the tech (mostly light construction) and the process (mostly buddy-buddy). A lot of these guys are stuck in those ways and while some will surely be missed, overall, it is better for a new generation to replace it.
