Why Aren't Russian Owned Companies Such As Axxonsoft Held To The Same Restrictions As Hikvision?
Every day I see articles come out about Chinese owned companies like; Hikvision, Dahua, LTS, etc. being banned from Federal, State, and Local, and even some commercial entities, but why isn't this enforcement the same or in my opinion even harsher for the Russian Owned companies like; AxxonSoft? It seems as if Russia is behind more state-sponsored attacks towards the U.S. than any other foreign power, so why aren't we enforcing the same Federal/State and Local regulations around Russian-based software companies? I'm aware of several State and Local entities in my region that use AxxonSoft and it baffles me that we aren't enacting similar bans on Russia as we are on Chinese-owned companies.
According to a new study released in an ABC News Article, "Russia accounted for most state-sponsored hacking detected by Microsoft over the past year, with a 58% share, mostly targeting government agencies and think tanks in the United States, followed by Ukraine, Britain and European NATO members, the company said." (Microsoft: Russia behind 58% of detected state-backed hacks - ABC News)
