What Wireless Technology Does Wireless Alarm Systems Use?
Hello All,
I dont have much experiane or knowledge about alarm system. Can anyone help with this? Wifi,IR, X10, PowerG, etc?
Thanks!
I know a good part of the market uses standard 900 MHz 'free' bands. The implementation often uses some form of frequency hopping for the sake of reliability and interference avoidance.
Honeywell and DSC's wirless devices operate in the 300 or 400 MHz range. I know DSC is 433, I believe honeywell is like 340 or 345. Honeywell uses wifi for alarm communication via a wifi module, and to connect the Tuxedo keypad to the network, but not for wireless devices, nor does DSC.
Does anybody still use X10?
