We are working on a large city surveillance project and we would like to get feedback on the type of cable jacket required to be used in city surveillance project.  The cable will be pulled in sub duct in a trench and then will be pulled into a street pole inside Flexible Ducts up until the camera.

We are pushing for LSZH but received feedback from the consultant that we should use indoor-outdoor cable?

You should probably go with whatever the consultant recommends, or the city requests, on a project like that. I don't think there is a single answer, though my go-to would be probably be a direct-burial rated cable filled with icky pick. That should cover just about any scenario where the cable might be pulled, buried, exposed to UV, or in areas with lots of rodents.

Maybe that fact that a specifc type of cable is not called out in the RFP should scare you if its a "large" project.  Wonder what else is missing from it?

Never heard of a city project that did not use fiber and/or wireless.  Where is this copper connection going to.

Fiber is majority used.  But copper to connect two poles across the roads or across a park within 100 meters approx
