VMS Software Support (SUP) Fees?

I am interested in learning about how the various VMS manufactures sell the SUP fee’s.

I have worked with multiple VMS’s and it seems as some include a fee during year 1 while others only charge for upgrades when needed or requested.

What is you experience with SUP’s – are they included as part of year 1 support or only after the year 1 warranty period has expired?


As a general rule, companies who only sell software push annual fees hard while companies who sell hardware (especially cameras) not only do not charge but sell hard on this point.
