Vehicle Tracking And Employee Productivity
If you’re not tracking your service vehicles and checking daily logs, you should be. I hired a new dispatcher and an assistant for her a couple of months ago to focus on efficiency. Come to find out, one of our techs has, in the last 11 months, sat idling in his vehicle and driven aimlessly around every day for over 400 hours. He went home over 50 times in the previous 11 months and sat in dozens of commuter parking lots. When she noticed that he kept rescheduling his appointments and not showing up, she started to dig a little and brought it to my attention. The cost of this is massive, between fuel, wages, lost revenue, and damages to our reputation. We’re talking tens of thousands of dollars here.
