Use Of LED Lighting In An Indoor Processing Area.
Does anyone have experience with the use of LED lighting and the effects / Pros / Cons with respect to IP cameras. We have a customer that has a controlled processing area that requires a fair bit of detail to monitor staff in that area and they have been approached by the building folks looking to replace the current 5000K fluorescent lighting with LED lighting to reduce heat and lower energry costs.
Our casino has been in the process of switching from a mix of compact fluorescent and low voltage incandescent lighting for a few months. We tested the lighting in a few areas before fully deploying it and found it had little effect on our cameras. In some cases, lighting improved due to the somewhat higher output of the LED lamps and generally wider and more even beamwidth.
