I went to a manufacturer VMS training after a major change in their system. I was amazed how non-technical 18 of 20 of the companies in the room. The most prevalent complaint was "my customers don't know how to do this now". Well, the customer interface side hadn't changed... The entire seminar turned into a bitch fest with the overwhelming majority of the "integrators" not being familiar enough with the previous version of the system to even understand what changed! In my experience the old DVR plug and play guys just never made the transition to IP. This market has undergone a tremendous change, guys who programmed burg with the Ademco programming guide through a keypad and plugged BNC's into a DVR and or analog matrix haven't made the transition in large part. They didn't get dumb, the technology just completely changed.
