Dahua Smart PSS Gotten Worse?

Has this software gotten worse?

Yesterday I was trying to pull footage for a client remotely and when I clicked on the timeline at 22:00, it played footage from 22:00 but jumped to 21:00 on the timeline. I tried multiple times and I finally got what I wanted but what a PITA.

On another system, I cut video from 6:00 on the timeline but got video from 5:00. Everything looked right, including the details that showed the time span after clicking the scissors. But when we played the video, it was an hour off. So I had to cut video from 7:00 to get the 6:00 video.

I had one site lose the recorders multiple times in the SW and we had to keep adding. I think we finally reinstalled the SW. Now I have another site running a PC for a viewing station for a TV, and it lost the recorders in Smart PSS. So now I have to readd.

I do not remember these issues with older versions of the program. Anyone else seeing these issues?

I've had the same 1hr issue thought it was related to daylight savings time. Where the time you choose to cut is actually off by an hour.

I also had the issue of recorders disappearing but thought that was onsite security staff deleting them by accident.

Both are within the last 6 months.

It´s a existing bug in all SMART PSS including latest 2.02.  Reported to Dahua early this year.

As Dahua left  SMART PSS development against new DSS PRO/Express, they didn´t fix the bug.

The new DSS is not popular, it´s client server based and still not stable.

I guess Dahua will be back to SMART PSS development and fix the bug soon.

Btw, for those wanting to see an overview of DSS, here is Dahua's new DSS marketing video:

Thanks, all. I asked Dahua for a formal response and will share if / when received.

Uggh I do not understand why they want to be 90% at everything or half ass. I doubt many people are going to trust Dahua and DSS Pro. There are a lot of people that I would trust for analytics before Dahua.

If they can't create a software that allows us to save video from the time we select, how are we ever going to trust them for AI/Analytics.

Dahua, for the love of *&#*, tighten up security and create a simple software package that allows us to rewind, fast forward, and save the correct time we select.

I have no issues with the cameras, I think they work fine.

What is the next step up? Hanwah? DW?  Imay have to do a cost comparison to see what it costs for Dahau cameras on a server with Milestone versus a full DW or Hanwah system.

It is getting old trying to work around the software.

The Network Optix OEMs are a pretty common choice as a step up from Hikua but lower cost than Milestone. Related: Hanwha Wave VMS Tested and Network Optix/Digital Watchdog VMS Tested

We stopped trying to deal with Dahua and Hikvision buggy software years ago and haven’t looked back since. These issues are why we left that crappy software behind. We went all in with DW Spectrum (Nx Witness and Hanwha Wave are the same app too) years ago and have had great success. We have had a few issues that were handled well by the development team. Dahua seems to never want to fix issues. Even when they do fix one glitch, they seem to reintroduce an old glitch that had been resolved as well. It’s madness.

So it just bit us again. It has the right time on Dahua cameras, but when we try to playback from a Uniview camera (which we use for license plates), it jumps around. I tried from Smart PSS and the web interface of the NVR.
