or just $?

Most companies are opting for cash and routing support primarily through the American Red Cross, but other companies are mixing it up to capitalize on their own expertise, or to engage employees and customers.

"Companies are really starting to leverage their core assets so it's not just checkbook philanthropy," said Marc DeCourcey, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

While there may be some opportunities for local companies to assist, I think for the majority of us it is simpler for all involved to donate money.

I think right now they need the basics, food clothes, water, labor etc

As we are a small company and only able to make a small donation, I think for us it is better to send some cash and let the Red Cross spend it appropriately.

I'd just donate cash.

Giving away stuff for free produces very little ROI.
