SAP Software Suspected Of Bringing Down DVRs

A colleague of mine just told me over the weekend that several HD Analog DVRs have been shutting down and restarted automatically when customer launches his SAP ERM Administration software.

I know that if a software is bandwidth-hungry application is eating up the bandwidth, it could affect the cameras live streams, but never heard of them provoking DVR restarts. Anyone had a similiar experience ??

If it where the case, how do I measure the bandwidth consumed by SAP anyway to show the customer ? I´ve heard of port mirroring but it sounds complicated due to us having to connect to the customer's core switch (or switches). Can Wireshark do this from a laptop ?

I have more questions than answers unfortunately; what is the brand of the DVRs, or at least what is the OS base of the server (Windows, Linux, ect)?

Do you have a way to isolate the DVRs from the corporate network, "air gapping" the system temporarily, while they run the ERM, to prove that the software is forcing a reboot?

Secondarily, if the SAP software is identifying risks in the DVR OS, you should see if they can tell you what the ERM is identifying as a problem with the DVRs. They could be doing you a favor by identifying a problem with the DVRs.

Does the DVR have a troubleshooting log system? Can you point those logs to an ftp or off-server location, so you can monitor logs as the system shuts off and reboots, and you don't potentially lose information during the reboot?
