OK, I'm very pro-gun, but this just seems like a fail:
This is from the official Ruger Facebook page.
The linked store promo page does not have any actual Ruger guns, mostly pepper spray and clothing, but there are some holsters, gun sights, and other items that are not very "back to school".
Is it just me, or is this a bit over the top?
They got you to post a discussion about what they are trying selling to other like minded individuals. Is it tasteful. No. Is it effective... Probably.
At the very least, Ruger is stupidly tone-deaf. Pretty bad.
The “Colonel” says you can never be too prepared, or too young for that matter ;)
Personally, I dislike this kind of humor.
SBC is undeniably funny - but this Who Is America series seems intent on tangibly hurting the butt of his jokes vs parodying their positions.
Designed hit pieces are not comedy that appeals to me.
a bit tone-def on Ruger's part maybe.... and so non-specific that it is easily ridiculed.
The model in that ad does not look like she is younger than college age.
they could've been more clear in targeting back to college instead of back to school - so people wouldn't be confused into thinking that Ruger is marketing to elementary school student parents - which I am positive that they were not.
