Need Help Trying To Find The Correct URL For Bluewave IP Camera RTSP Stream

We need to install a device for a client that will provide live view for 12 cameras to two monitors.  One is VGA and the other is HDMI.  The DW Spot Monitor seems like a perfect fit for this application.  Our problem is that there are 3 sites, each with a BlueWave NVR & BlueWave IP cameras(based on the OUI, these appear to be manufactured by Hitron).  The 2 remote sites have only 2 cameras each connected to a NVR via the integrated POE ports.  I am certain that we should be able to use RSTP to pull the live streams, but we are having difficulty figuring out the the correct URL to enter.  These sites have a basic DSL modem and we can easily port forward to the NVR.

I have searched "RTSP" and there is a lot of threads regarding this, but I am kind of stumped. Hoping that someone might have some guidance?

Have you tried these?

We have not tried that.  Is it simply downloading the Ispy software and then searching for the camera on the LAN?  That might disclose the correct stream?

Don't download anything.

Just try these:

rtsp://username:password@cameraip/1/stream1

rtsp://username:password@cameraip/1/onvif-stream1

rtsp://username:password@cameraip/stream1

Try port 554 after camera IP in addition to trying to items above.

We will try those.  We would probably need to do a port forward in the modem (forward 554 to the NVR address?).

In the DW Spot Monitor, it has a username/password entry seperate from the url entry.  Curious if that will make a difference.

It looks like we would probably need to be on the LAN to determine the correct RTSP URL?

I don't know if we might be able to just access the NVR to do this or if we need direct access to the cameras themselves?  Since the cameras are connected directly to the POE ports on the NVR, it seems that we have to go "through or to" the NVR to do this?  I am not certain if this is even possible?

Does the NVR have RTSP out? Some do and some don't. If it has ONVIF open up the tool onvif device manager and you should see the device. If you're looking for RTSP determining the stream URL may require some investigation.

If the sites are remote with network address translation (NAT) between LANs you may have to tunnel RTSP over HTTP. This can be done via a proxy module.

Proxy Module?  I am not sure what that is. Both remote sites have DSL modems with static public IP’s.

We will go to one of the sites and try the ISpy and Onvif device mgr while connected to the LAN and see if we can determine something.

This is all about being able to use a DW Spot Monitor for 2 Live view displays.  We do know that we could use a Windows based device and run the client software. It just seems that the Spot Monitor would be a more solid solution for what we are trying to accomplish.

tried all of your suggestions using VLC (much easier to type/alter addresses). It should work using VLC as well as the DW Spot monitor?  The DW device has numerous options for adding ports, addresses, etc, as well as choosing "Add DVR/NVR Manually" and Add Cameras Manually".

Update:  On the DW Spot, we add a camera manually, "ONVIF", enter Public IP:50000 (Which allows direct access via a web browser), click "select stream", it appears to see 2 streams and auto populates a most everything in the setup screen.

Example:  RTSP 1st URL:   RTSP://**.***.***.**:554/1/stream1/Profile1

So it appears that would be the correct way to enter the address on the DW Spot. It is definitely communicating with the camera, but is not receiving live video.  I am thinking that 554 maybe needs forwarded?

There are so many variables here and I have to throw in the towel at some point.  I think we will just get a small windows machine and run the client software for our 2 live view monitors.  We know that that works.

Thanks for everyone's input!
