This is pretty cool. A user shared the process of wiring his house up with an alarm system, cameras, and a data network, all hidden behind a bookshelf that locks in place when the alarm is armed.
The photos show the process of wiring up the house. A lot of users point out what a sloppy job the guy did, but I say it's not bad for a first timer. At least he knows that wired alarm sensors are inherently more reliable than wireless alarm sensors.
You won't be able to comment, as the thread is locked (the discussion went off the rails pretty quick), but it's kind of interesting to see the decision making process of an obviously intelligent but ignorant security consumer.
