All,

Looking for recommendations and suggestions of an access and VMS for a large multi-family project that is easy to use ( office staff changes frequently or switch between properties), can be converted to enterprise level across portfolio and integrates latest technologies such as Schlage AD/ND series locksets, long range readers for gates, mobile credentials, etc.

U1,

Thanks for your first comment, welcome!

A little more information would be helpful, so I have a few questions:

  • Would you want a unified system (video and access software from the same manufacturer), or are you open to integrated systems (different manufacturers from each)?
  • It sounds like the access control functionality might be driving the solution more than the video in your case, will the video be monitored 24/7 or is it mainly for investigation/incident recording?
  • Is this apartment residential, or multiple buildings across diverse regional areas?
  • Are you interested in Cloud-based management, streaming or storage?
  • Have you already rejected any systems or manufacturers, based on missing features, or past experiences?

Unified systems decrease the potential of finger-pointing. Integrated systems can potentially offer more flexibility to get specific features you are looking for, by allowing a choice of 2 different platforms, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

You can also email me at sean@ipvm.com if you want to set up a quick phone call about this.
