Hi all,

Somebody here ever worked with Nicevision?

Their VMS is looking quite interesting, but I cant get any decent info about them, all the articles are dated few years ago.

How they perform, compared to the big player? Nicevision, Genetec, ExacqVision, Etc.

Thank you,

We have not done any reviews or technical coverage of them in some time. We have talked them once or twice a year to get basic information.

The biggest differences we see is (1) Qognify is narrowly focused at large to mega-sized systems and (2) they focus on selling not only VMS but PSIM and their other command and control software options / offering.

From what we can tell, far far fewer integrators sell Qognify, given Qognify's focus on mega projects vs integrators more typically wanting to sell mid-market deals.

If you sell many very large projects (thousands of cameras, smart cities, etc.), it would be worth looking at Qognify but if your normal project is hundreds of cameras or less, the common choices are likely more appropriate - you mention Genetec and Exacq, Milestone and Avigilon are other ones, etc.

Thank you John,

It is more due to one of our clients who show interest with their VMS. We are actually working mostly with ExaqVision and Milestone.

I checked with all of our major distributors and none of them is selling their licenses, so I assume that we have to talk with them directly.

The installation is not huge, about 1000 cameras, something the Milestone can handle easily, but our customer is quite pushing for them.

Why is your client pushing for them? What is it about that VMS?

#1, yes Qognify does not sell through distribution to the best of my knowledge.

At 1,000 cameras, I am guessing Qognify would be interested in it. Whether or not it's a fit is a different question. It's going to be quite a bit more expensive than Milestone. The question will be whether Qognify's analytics and PSIM features are worth it, which I can't opine on since we've not examined them.

I don't know, according to the website, they are selling 4,16 and 128 NVRs, so it seems they do have a small and medium solution.

I guess we will need to call them directly in order to find out.

Our customer wants it because he worked with their VMS before and like it a lot.

We will try to show them other options, but in the end we need to provide what they wants...

so it seems they do have a small and medium solution.

What they 'have' and what they focus on are different things. In any event, if this is 1,000 cameras, again I think Qognify would be interested.

If your customer knows it and likes it, then you will need to talk to Qognify directly. They tend to be fairly restricted in accepting dealers so see if or what steps you will need to go through to get approved.

This is my fear, but we will try to call them and see what they say.

I was hoping to find here someone that dealt/dealing with them, but it seems that they are very rare on the market.

Thank you for the info.
