Powered Fibre Cable For Perimeter CCTV Runs - Is It Viable?

I was hoping for some feedback on the use of powered fibre for perimeter CCTV runs. The intent is to avoid running power around the site and then stepping it down. According to the literature, one can achieve up to 3km for POE cameras.

I've never used this type of product. Is it viable? Thanks.

John  - Thanks for the question. I do not have experience using the product so I will let others speak to that, but I thought these links may help with your research.

CommScope offers Powered Fiber Products, which may be what you were originally looking at since they state ~3km. Bertek also has a solution you may want to check out.

Make sure you do your voltage drop calculations. There are some online calculators that will help. Power thirsty cameras can make this solution less plausible.
