Although my unit has a small defect, Uniview is going to totally take care of me on this, and I'm VERY grateful. Zero pushback... which you usually get from anyone. Heck, Samsung fights me when I do an RMA on their SSDs with 10 year warranty, the 850 Pro ! ?? AWE. SOME!

However, that means I don't get to know what the performance would be like. Can anyone here tell me what their thoughts are on a Uniview 4K ?  If I'm really lucky, hopefully, I'll get info from a couple of you... someone with the H.264 only model and someone else who has the H.265! :-)

Thanks to John Honovich, I went on a spending spree yesterday to build out a Milestone Server.

Note: The newest series of Kaby Lake CPU's not only have Quick Sync, but the best quick sync yet.

Q Sync Ver 6 has built in support for HEVC codecs. Not only H.265, but also, the open source VP9 plus all older assets.

Anyway, back to the topic; I'd love any info on Univiews 4K PTZs. Unable to find anything online. Also, maybe a comparative statement as to who's quality they're on par with.

I've also always found this NVR to be sexy and feature packed (just not in comparison to dedicated VMS, like Milestone).

Does anyone have any insights on this unit?
