Impossible to make this truly scientific, but how many people can name any ISC West New Product Showcase entries, and who can name or remember any of the winners?

I know 1 of the winners (Of course, I presented an won one of them.. :) )
And I will be amazed if you ever recoup your time and NPS entrance fee in the form of increased sales from the award. At least the trophy will make your lobby look a little more impressive.

Oh, you meant this year :)
Didn't Hikvision take home the win for their new Honovich detection robot?
Good question and long story short is I'm not able to name 5 winners and/or entrants.
Let's get to the question behind the question which is how can entrants maximize their exposure for this type of marketing...because make no doubt about it, it is marketing.
Let's start off with SIA, there were 122 entrants this year which resulted in a minimum of over $300K in revenue. Should they create more exposure for each of the entrants and winners? Sure there can always be more exposure and if there's more marketing announcements listing each of the entrants and eventual winners it may garner even more entrants for 2019.
What about the industry publications or even IPVM? First of all there isn't a formal published list of all entrants without swinging by the NPS area at ISC West. There are usually write ups after the fact but since this is part of a manufacturers (or service providers) marketing strategy why leave this up to anyone else?
Take the bull by the horns and market the fact that your group has entered the NPS and communicate the real value proposition and what challenge your new product/solution solves? This can be done by many marketing channels including:
- Social Media (organic and paid ads)
- PR
- At Your Booth
As a matter of fact, I went by a group's booth (won't name names) that had entered into the NPS and they didn't even have any signage / collateral about entering. Fortunately they won in their category and had the trophy with them but it may be been too late since the majority of the show had passed them by at that time. Some of the items I referenced here are basic but many groups if not most failed to even leverage these 101 channels.
Ideally, there should be many individuals chiming in here and answering the original question with ease.
I entered and won a few years ago. It's fun to win something and it gave us something to show in the office, and talk about, but in reality I don't know that it generated additional revenue. I can honestly say that outside of my close friends in the industry, nobody even knew about it unless I told them. Even when I told them it didn't generate much interest. Everyone said 'congrats' or something like that, but nobody ever said 'I have to buy your product since you won NPS.'
I entered the next year, didn't win, and haven't entered again. I don't think it's worth it at all.
