Mass shootings are terrible and, clearly, solutions are needed. One that our industry is marketing is weapons detectors but how much of a difference can they really make?
Weapons detectors for airports make a lot of sense since attackers want to get weapons onto planes so that they can maximize damage - on the ground, they might kill a dozen, in the air, they might kill a hundred or hundreds, etc.
