Manufacturer Sales Reps Need To Check State Licensing Before Sending Leads To Unlicensed Integrators

Question >>> As sales reps for either manufacturers or distributors, do you ever check or verify an integrator's state licensing status before sending them leads or doing business with them? (Silly question, I know, since who wants who would turn down a sale?).

In Florida, we have to hold an electrical contractors license to run any kind of electrical cabling, including network cabling for anything, doesn't matter for what purpose. As the newer cloud-based video and access solutions gain momentum, we are seeing more un-licensed contractors and integrators getting a hold of the stuff and either installing it without a license or coming to us to install some or the parts of the system that they either don't know how to do (like access control) or don't have the manpower to do, all of which is illegal.
