Shear Mag Lock Operation Question

I have this issue from time to time and I would like someone else's opinion outside of my own silo. The customer will almost always use 1562 SDC Shear locks on double doors. From time to time on an install, one lock will work really well and one lock will work intermittently. After three for four visits from the glass company that provided the locks and the access company that wired them up the issue is resolved, but I rarely get a satisfactory answer as to the nature or fix. I get some songs and dances. I don't honestly care what needs to happen, I just keep a little book on installs of what can go wrong and I don't have good answers for this.
