Does anyone know of LPR cameras that are fully self contained. By fully self contained I mean solar powered and cellular transmitted. I have found one company that does this and we are seriously considering working with them. I have not found anyone else doing this in a way that actually requires no infrastructure be brought to a remote location (power and network lines). The one that we have been using as a demo seems to work very well.
I spoke with a representative of one of the larger VMS companies who told me that nobody else is doing what these guys are doing. This leads toward working with our procurement folks as this company being a sole source provider. While I have not been able to find anyone doing this the same I wanted to ask industry professionals whether or not you have heard of anyone else doing it this way.
