What Is CVBS?

Jun 15, 2016CVBS, (Color, Video, Blanking and Sync), usually just refers to good old analog video, typically delivered via coax.
It's a technique where color information and luminance are mixed into a single waveform for transmission. It's also the yellow RCA jack output on your VCR/DVD player.
It encompasses the more specific formats like NTSC, PAL, SECAM that you may be familiar with.
Technically, HD Analog is also CVBS, though they are usually referred to as only CVI, TVI, AHD, at least from what I have seen.
