Is Monitronics Saved From Another Bankruptcy?

We believe Monitronics, dba Brinks Home Security, was headed for another bankruptcy (#2 within 24 months), this time under the OTC symbol “SCTY”. Heavy executive payroll and light future revenue due to disruption of business model. However, an announcement last month, November 4, could delay a BK and strengthen future revenue. Dick Seger was formally added to the Board of Directors, and named Chairman of the Strategy Committee. It is a BIG DEAL because Dick was good friends and colleague with Peder Kolind, the original founder of Brinks Home Security. They grew up and educated in the same part of Europe. Dick stayed in Europe and founded and built “Securitas Direct”( recently sold for 3.5 $Billion) whereas Peder came to the US with the business model for original “Brinks Home Security” (accounts sold to ADT over $2 Billion). Mentioned here because European business models (and around the globe) generally do not include police response for private monitoring firms, thus private response or true Verified Response; whereas US cities historically provided police response no-cost on-demand … big, big difference. Now, North American law enforcement has been trending toward slow or no response, like peers around the globe. Hopefully, Monitronics/SCTY/Dick Seger can quickly make that transition for existing million Monitronics customers. What do you think about their survival?
