I'm looking to meet RS-485 standards for in ground pipe where water may be. Originally I thought just a F/UTP Cat6 Plenum ind/out would do the trick but I'm unsure if the 100m distance limitation still applies if using it as a RS-485 connection. Most composites for this use are insane in price, so if anyone has any recommendations on what they use that is price conscious I would appreciate it!
Notes: This is for a gate long range RFID reader and gate controller back to the main control board. The distance is right around 100m.
