Ideas For Mini NVR?

Curious if anyone has some good/negative experiences with running a very small NVR setup. It would be used in a small vented enclosure for temporary remote surveillance.

I like the idea of using a Raspberry Pi, but also like the freedom of having windows on a Micro sized PC like a Dell Optiplex Micro Tower. Haven’t seen any prebuilt NVRs small enough to fit my setup.
