This has been one of my primary complaints about Hikvision from a technical perspective (let's leave the politics out of this discussion please).
They are the largest manufacturer in the world, have a release schedule that's unmatched, have innovated and produced some pretty unique products, yet they consistently lag behind in some of the most basic and fundamental aspects of offering a surveillance solution.
