Hello,

I had to replace both OS drives therefore I had to install Windows Server 2012 and SC5.1. Now that I have that up and running, I don't know how to reconnect the existing video files (D: drive)so my customer and see the prior video in SC5.1?

I sent genetec tech support an email, but that usually takes 24 hours for a reply.

Thanks

Did you get a backup of the system before you upgraded? You will need a backup of the directory, archiver, and all associated SQL databases in order to re-connect. Once you get those restored you can run a tool called "VideoFileAnalyzer" (C:->Program Files (x86)-> Genetec Security Center 5.x -> VideoFileAnalyzer.exe) that will then be able to re-piece together your database

You have to be careful using the Video File Analyzer, the default option is to Quarantine the files, but not to reindex them into SQL. You have to Shift + click the button to actually reindex the files in SQL. It's in the Admin doc, and the help files on the Genetec Tips page.

Thanks Sean and & Undisclosed #1,

No backup, I had to do this from scratch...

I got this back from Genetec...

If you can see the files on D drive but not in SD when you are tying to do playback then you will have to re-index them in the database, you can do that by using out tool called Orphan File Finder, If you go on your Archiver server at C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center 5.1 location and look for OrphanFileFinder.exe, run ut as admin.
