The appearance of two mysterious new companies selling rebranded DJI drones is drawing speculation that they are part of a DJI scheme to avoid FCC restrictions if the Countering CCP Drones Act succeeds in adding it to the FCC Covered List.

There is no direct evidence of this strategy, DJI refused to comment when I asked them, and even if it is true it would not be very effective as I explain further on, but the situation is nonetheless bizarre and fascinating.
