You know in fact Black products actually look nicer in marketing, white is a real bitch to make look good, unless you have a dark background which it not always good, at least on printed material.
And we all know how Black is somehow now the color of choice for iPhone7! Yes I know it's not the same thing as a camera.
Maybe trends in fashionable color in cameras might one day be part of the industry.
For retail and many business installations, more emphasis on aesthetics is at least part of the demand, as mentioned earlier in this thread.
Next time you order a camera check what color(s) are available. Ask what's the Pantone number, or REL number (REL is a German color coding) 95% of Chinese products do not conform to any such color.
How do they make the next product the same color all the time! Very easy and oo so technical. They keep one sample of the product, and then just mix the paint so it looks the same! (No Shit Sherlock)
