Armored Cabling Versus Conduit?

Are there codes that would negate the ability to run armored CatX cabling rather than install conduit and pull the cable through? Armored cabling would certainly be less expensive. Windy City Wire will armor many of the cables they sell at a cost.

This is actually Metal Clad (MC) cable, not Armored Cable (AC), due to the jacket and separate ground wire, no?

It may be cheaper if you are pulling only one cable but that's rarely the case. Most conduits will hold multiple cables.
