A subscriber showed me a bid spec that requires 15 ninety-meter-long aerial CAT 6 cables - from a center mast to 15 poles. Each spec has a 'Stockbridge damper' installed about 5 feet from each cable end.

I was not familiar with it, but a 'Stockbridge damper' is common for high-voltage power cables. I think it is basically a weight/mass that absorbs resonant ground vibrations to keep the cable from being damaged/stretched/connectors stressed:
