Now we can applaud ADT/Apollo. When ADT changed their senior management team several years ago, they went outside the traditional alarm industry. Jim DeVries, now CEO of ADT, and Harriet Harty, now Chief Administrative Officer, both were formally senior executives at Allstate Insurance. They had to deal with a major internal cultural change within ADT before reaching the current profile that includes Google, State Farm, UBER, Solar, and several other outside fragments. Their current strategy probably averted the specter of deceptive business practices and/or bait-n-switch, by customer disclosures and offering several different layers of residential and commercial “security” upgrades and substitutes for several million existing RMR customers. Which can lower attrition and increase long term RMR for ADT and their partners, including Apollo.
