Does anyone have experience with using AnyVision FR in a retail environment? The demos look impressive.

We are planning to test Anyvision soon, Anyvision asked us to wait until their next release which is planned for later this month.

I'll ask Anyvision if they have any case studies or reference in retail.

I would be curious to see how it works. For example, let's assume it works really well but obviously, you can't be 100% positive even with visual verification, do store employees walk up to people? Kick them out? Follow them closely throughout the store? Curious #1 if you have any thoughts on that?

Hey John.  Is the testing in process now?  Looking forward to the report.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the "next release" that's ready for testing is still coming soon.  This is not based on any specific knowledge about Anyvision; but rather on long experience of hype surrounding analytics.

We are scheduled to start our test with their visit to our office at the end of this month.

We have been testing Anyvision for a while and will be installing a couple of POCs in different verticals in the upcoming weeks.  We have 2 PTZ cameras running Anyvison running on a city street both not mounted in ideal positions and I am impressed at how well it detects and matches faces.

We tested it in one of our Retail stores. The bosses all seemed pretty impressed, and appear to be going forward with a purchase for a few more stores.

#2, thanks. What are they planning to use it for? Known shoplifters? VIPs? Other?

Mostly known suspects. Thefts have been increasing at massive levels, and it's usually a small number of people doing the bulk of the thefts. They want to know when the guy enters the store, and then also be able to compare to other stores, to see if they stole from one if they stole from another, or pre-warn other stores.

A number of posters were either in testing mode or about to test.  Any updates?  What about the commercial side of things.  Is the software and hardware required affordable relative to the problem it's intended to solve? Historically video analytics have been a thousand dollar fix for a hundred dollar problem.

Supposedly the company I work for is going ahead with installing AnyVision for a bunch of our retail stores. Though not sure on exact dates yet, it's going through internal budget processes right now, I think.

Our demo system is working great.  Over 30,000+ faces detected.

Unique or including repeats? What kind of environment is the cam covering? Small office? Public street? What kind of database are you using? Thanks.

Cameras are covering public streets and exits of an arena and different stores plus the entrance to our office.   We move the PTZs around to look at different areas just to test. There would be repeat detections as the same people work in the area every day.  I am not sure if the "total objects detected" are unique faces or total faces seen.

I'm concerned about the governance features. I hope the IPVM write-up addresses that. There needs to be a good GUI for setting up user permissions, purging data and reporting to show trends across incidents. The analytic might work great, but with the fearful climate of data privacy, if their management tools aren't at least on par with the competition, they can write off any opportunity with knowledgeable retail clients.
