Any Experience With Dahua LPR/ ANPR Camera's?

I had requested one of thier LPR cameras as a demo earlier this year as we had a client who was considering adding this to thier system. 

The camera was able to capture great images of plates however I am in Canada and the ANPR functionality did not recognize our plates. When I asked when updated firmware would come out that included North American plates they provided me with an unclear answer that it would happen sometime in the future.
