Sales of school weapons screening are being driven by shootings and new entrants' marketing. Now, one company is hoping a machine with a smiley face will make a difference.
A Texas-based company, Linev Systems US (part of the international company Linev Group), has an x-ray bag scanner designed for school bag screening, called BV Stream. This x-ray bag scanner has a customizable exterior design and a smiley face indicator that changes when a threat item is detected, as shown below:
