Waiting for many months, or a year or longer, has been a common problem (see IPVM product shortages statistics) but the opposite is increasingly becoming a problem where the manufacturer tells you you have to wait a long time yet it suddenly arrives.
At the PSATec Conference this week, RFI's CEO Dee Ann Harn commented about a problem where a manufacturer says delivery won't happen for a long time and then it shockingly arrives the next day:
