IPVM has often featured national Alarm Association leadership, tradeshows, relationships with law enforcement, etc. For example, $800,000 annual compensation for one leadership position. Yet, we are unaware of any serious reports to support membership from diluting the market value of their RMR, due to UPR/Unnecessary Police Response, aka 95% false alarms…30,000,000 annually. Several Associations “unknowingly’ suppressed critical market dynamics, by supporting the decades outdated “quid-pro-quo“ and “status-quo”. Members have needed time-sensitive and credible guidance about the consequences from current disruption of the E911 System throughout North America. RMR stakeholders are already experiencing NO or low priority police response to most customers of remote-monitored alarm systems, without the customer awareness. “Plausible Deniability” no longer available. Fortunately, lots of stakeholders have done their research and made the appropriate updates over a period of several years. Now lots of market disruption could deliver heavy attrition. State/Local Associations can provide serious local support if re-purposed.
