ADT Dirty-Little-Secret ... BIG Opportunity For IPVM Audience

ADT FORGOT AGAIN… during 3Q Report, to mention nasty legacy liability. The dirty-little-secret that ADT/Apollo does not want to talk about is a legacy liability that is systemic industry wide. Several million ADT subscription “deterrent” customers, aka future revenue, now have a big hole in their security that could justify major customer-unit-attrition (not same a customer-revenue-attrition). The secret…. Customers expect “police response”, but only get “police notification”, or worse, “customer notification”. For several years, the trend all across the country is for local police to ignore calls from private monitoring firms, or give it low or no priority. Unless monitoring companies, like ADT, Vivint, Rapid Response, Monitronics, witness/verify a crime, the deterrent system can be classified as a low priority nuisance call due to false alarm history (near 100% error/false). Now known as low quality “deterrent systems”, but often priced like high quality verified defensive systems. When customers discover the hole in their security they get mad and go away, or worse. The Google relationship could be sloppy cover-up. A big opportunity.
