Access Control And Alarm System - Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Hi All, I was wondering if there is any basic steps when dealing with access control and alarms troubleshooting steps. I know it could be numerous scenarios but I'm just looking to see if there is any "cheat" sheet. that could help any person look at the basics (e.g. Is the controller power?, etc.

Is it mainly malfunctions you're looking to solve, or is it problems with normal operation, ie: devices not acting right?

Hi Brian, thanks. Both. I want to be able to ensure site level people can conduct some basic assessment before it gets too technical to call an integrator.

For example: if all the doors are not working, is there a site wide power outage?, if not can they pin the controller?, if not, if the controller powered?, have they rebooted it?...not sure if this make sense but I certainly appreciate any feedback. I read all the guides for IP troubleshooting (very comprehensive) but could not find something similar for access control and alarms systems.

You are basically asking for the FAQ's that the manufacturer of equipment would use for Tier 1 technical support.  You might want to reach out to them if you have consistent products.
